A Morning in the Garden

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.  ~Claude Monet

Have you ever wanted to go to a place to feed your soul visually? A place to "sort of" call your own. A place where you can lose yourself and gain inspiration at the same time. I find this all in my Mom's gardens...my inspiration for my jewelry designs all started here. Take a little journey and you will see why...

 Hostas, daisies, and bird amenities

A place for morning or afternoon tea

Blackeyed Susans, Purple Coneflower, Hydrangea, and Hummingbird feeders

A place for butterflies

Look how the Clementis found its way around the handmade spoon chimes!

Handmade gourd from Pennsylvania

Tomatoes anyone?

How much prettier can this be?

Yellow Finch perched on a purple coneflower

My Dad bought this old whiskey barrel and turned it into a water fountain

One of my Mom's garden loves...roses

Pretty flower containers are scattered throughout the yard

Butterfly bush on the left..not sure what the white flower is.

Mini herb garden..my Mom makes homemade herbal tea.

Fresh picked flowers

Handmade birdhouses

Salvia

Milkweed for Monarch butterflies

A place to rest after a long day...

Birds flock to this backyard

That's me (owl tee by Hard Love Apparel )

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
~Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"

  1. how lovely. I'm relaxed now just from "walking" thru the garden.

  2. Thanks for the lovely comments! I really enjoyed taking the pictures and then picking which ones to post. My Mom and Dad have been living there for almost 40 years and they add new things every year!
